Greetings from Columbus, MS. Right now we're in what is considered neutral territory for today's big game.
Folks in the hotal are dressed in fan finery -- both sides. For now they'll get along, but come 6pm they will be competing.
We're staying at a hotel next door to where the AL team is staying. Last night, with several busses and police escort, they went out to dinner.
We had dinner at a cute little Italian joint. They had good tiramisu. Today's big meal will be brunch at the popular meat-n-three downtown.
Speaking of downtown, chances are you have seen this downtown before. It was Jimmy Stewart's hometown from the ever-popular Christmas classic, "It's a Wonderful Life."
Much of the film was shot in this town, including that famous gymnasium/pool scene. That's at Mabel's college.
Oh, and this was also Jenny's campus in Forrest Gump! Just a bit of town trivia here.
We will spend the afternoon here then drive back home. Just needed a bit of Mabel sunshine.

6 Hey Lois! (click here to comment):
Enjoy, honey. You both deserve a little fun 'n sunshine. Big hugs...
Sounds like a lovely little place and a great way to spend some time together and relax a bit. Just watch out for strange men standing on bridges and threatening to jump off!
Of course now I'm craving some tiramisu but I doubt I'll be getting any. Perhaps I'll make some brownies instead!
Enjoy your visit and travel home safely! Hugs...
I don't have a dog in the race, although I know fans of both sides.
So I say best of luck to both sides...that they play with sportsmanship and that no one gets hurt.
I ♥ It's a Wonderful Life and Forrest Gump. I may have to dust them off and watch them now!
Have fun! Big Hygs ♥xo
i've never had tiramisu before.
