Good morning. Just woke up. Yesterday was a very long day, last night was equally long, and I'm hoping for a better day today. Spent most of yesterday in bed. After my walk, the vertigo got the best of me-- hit like a ton of bricks. I had some nausea and vomiting, so I decided to take it easy and stay in bed.
On to more pleasant thoughts...
After Tuesday's lobster dinner we drove up the coast and explored the New Hampshire coastline. I have to say that this place has a completely different feel from southwest Florida, coastal North Carolina, and the northern gulf coast. Yes, and even different from the California coast, too. I like that about our country that so many areas are diverse.
We drove north to Hampton, NH. We came upon a really cheesy area full of tooky t-shirt shops and souvenirs... probably much like a typical eastern seaboard boardwalk. The place was packed with people of all shapes, sizes, etc. just milling about. Small, family-owned inns lined the streets with their porches facing the Atlantic Ocean. At the bandshell, a band was playing fun music.
We took the truck further, happened upon a rocky coastline and saw some surfers all geared up to take on the waves. The breeze was coming from the water, so we got a good sniff of salty sea air (I love it so!). By the way, the different coastlines smell equally different. This coastline has a salty, almost wet musty green smell. Not unpleasant, just salty, wet and green...
Just slightly further up the road, we came upon some gorgeous homes. By this time the sun was going down so we didn't get really good picutres, but there are two that remotely came out during the drive by...
On the way home I captured these fishing boats harbored for the evening.
Like I said, it's an entirely different feel from other coastlines. I think I'm going to like this place!

Even though I'm a born and raised southerner. I grew up in Yankeeland... just makes my accent stronger and my "y'alls" longer...
tee hee!
Yankees aren't so bad, my dear...LOL!
I'm a born and raised Massachuseets coastline gal, and it is very picturesque! My personal favorite is still the long, rocky beaches of Maine. Cue the music!
OK, I lied, I prefer the lakes, but still.
Hope your vertigo goes away today!
nice views from the window.
oh the adventure and discovery of something new.
oh the adventure and discovery of something new.
Empress Bee made me laugh out loud.
Enjoy your new surroundings honey. I love the homes. They are always the very best along the ocean. Just saying.
Have a terrific vertigo free day. Big hug. :)
I'm so jealous. I always wanted to live close to the ocean :o)
I'm glad you're feeling better, Lois!
What a wonderful adventure. Simply beautiful!
Oh, honey, I'm so sorry about the vertigo - been there! I battle it from time to time. The stuff they gave me (antivert) is the same stuff available over the counter as Bonine, for motion sickness. Hope the dizzyness leaves you shortly!
Hugs!
Ocean! Ocean! Thank you.
I hope that you're feeling better soon as well...at least I feel more comforted knowing you're all curled up safe and sound in that fantastic Airstream!
Thanks for taking us on the drive with you! :) I loved it.
*waves*HI!!!*waves*
Nice, I too have been on every coast. East-West/North-South. They are all different and beautiful.
well i still think you should be careful around those yankees. just sayin'...

Hmmm, it appears that I shall drive up there, kidnap you, and lead foot it up to Old Orchard Beach and further in Maine! Ayut ... t'would be a nice ride with some scenic views!
We used to go swimming at Hampton Beach when we lived in Portsmouth, darned cold water it was!
And you're right, there is such a difference in coastal regions - it's like night and day from one side of the country to the other! That's what makes our great land so GREAT!
I get what you mean about the coastlines being so different. I've been up and down most of the west coast, and it's wonderful to watch it change. I'd love to tour the east coast for another comparison.
